Vue Storefront has been built with the headless approach in mind. It is possible to connect it with any eCommerce backend (like Magento or Pimcore) through the API. Leaving the backend performance to eCommerce platform suppliers, Vue Storefront developers focused on the PWA features, frontend UX and innovations in speed.

Connected to your eCommerce platform, it turns the frontend into a super-fast webpage, and mobile app with a pleasurable UX at the same time.

Vue Storefront is developed by teams specialized in eCommerce solutions. It is one of the first PWA solutions fully dedicated to eCommerce platforms and it works great. This is why more and more backend platforms are interested in Vue Storefront and more integrations will be available soon.

Integrate Vue Storefront in your way

Platforms with VS integration

Existing Vue Storefront integrations with eCommerce platforms cover all their functionalities, so you can just connect them with the API (check how to pimp your API) and start using it as your progressive web app. This is the basic way to get started, but Vue Storefront can also support you in migrations.

Migrations to another platform

You can use Vue Storefront to ensure safe migration to a newer version of your existing eCommerce platform or even a different platform.

For example, you can connect Vue Storefront to your Magento 1 and then migrate to Magento 2 without changing a single line of code in your frontend. It is possible thanks to the abstraction API layer between your eCommerce platform and Vue Storefront. With this layer, you can migrate on your own terms, without any risk, having the old and the new backends still in place.

Platforms without VS integration

Even if your eCommerce platform is not (yet) fully integrated with Vue Storefront, you can use it anyway. As we already mentioned, Vue Storefront is designed with a headless approach. To add Vue Storefront to any other eCommerce platform, use our integration boilerplate.

It is worth mentioning that Vue Storefront integration with Pimcore took us 380 working hours (including full integration, product catalog with dynamic requests like shopping carts and user accounts). Simpler integrations, based on a product catalog (which means pushing data to ElasticSearch), with other eCommerce platforms, typically take 20-80 working hours.
